Community Outreach

The Community Outreach Committee is sub-committee of PEP, was developed to expand access of selective and indicated prevention services to Cabell County and surrounding areas.   


To effect community-level change through community outreach and implementation of evidence-based substance use prevention programing in Cabell County and surrounding areas.   

Community Capacity Building

PEP staff collaborate with local leaders to identify training needs of community leaders and staff and assist with substance use prevention needs.

Youth Activity opportunities

                              PEP Calendar

Teen Nights – PEP and the Youth Leadership Team host Teen Nights 3 times per year to engage youth and promote drug-free living. See PEP’s calendar for updates on events. 

Holiday Events – Two yearly events held in April and December, have a community involvement component, prevention message, and gifts tied to protective factors. Reach out to to get involved.

You Can Do It Too – a pilot cultural enhancement program designed to cultivate creativity, confidence, and skills of youth by exposing and allowing participation in arts and cultural experiences. Reach out to to get involved.

Youth Prevention Contests – Social media contests occur annually. PSA poster contests, & the Eggs-extraordinary Scavenger Hunt.

 Youth Outreach in Local Community Centers

Our community outreach committee does amazing work, and this work would not be achievable without our members and community partners. Below are all Community Partners that work with PEP in different capacities. 

Free Programming For Youth – PEP’s community outreach coordinator provides evidence-based delinquency prevention programming and positive youth development to middle school and high school-aged youth in Cabell County. 

Class Topics: Peers Making Peace, Life Skills, and Positive Action

Wednesday: 3:00 – 4:00 PM @ Family Support Center

Friday: 3:00 – 4:00 PM @ Phil Cline YMCA of Huntington
