Youth Leadership

The PEP Youth Leadership Team (YLT) entrusts our youth to make a genuine difference in the lives of others in their community. It allows them to develop their leadership, public speaking, and advocacy skills while building relationships with other teens dedicated to making our world a better place

The YLT prepares youth for adulthood through leadership development and is composed of a select group of youth who work with PEP advisors to arm their community and peers with the knowledge to combat substance misuse through youth lead projects.

What’s Up Wednesday

WUW is a volunteer group of middle and high school students dedicated to making our community a better, healthier, and safer place to live. We do this through substance misuse prevention and education. We make a difference in our community, and we have a good time doing it

During these meetings, youth come together to discuss risk and protective factors concerning substance misuse in terms of what the teens are seeing and feeling in today’s climate. Prevention games, projects, and discussions will occur during these sessions. During summer months WUW will occasionally meet in person. Check PEP’s Facebook page for locations. During the school year, WUW meets virtually, join us using the link below!

VIRTUAL MEETINGS: EVERY 1ST & 3RD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH @4pm

PEP and the Youth Engagement Workgroup host 3 Teen Nights throughout each year. These events are created to engage youth in fun drug-free activities. During the pandemic, these gatherings have been and will continue to be replaced with innovative community-wide covid safe events.

PEP has also started a pilot cultural enhancement program. This program is designed to cultivate the creativity, confidence, and skills of our youth by exposing them to arts and cultural experiences while encouraging participation.
